Education is central to our practice. In addition to GP training we also have an increasing role in undergraduate teaching (currently taking 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students). We have established regular practice based educational meetings for the entire Primary Health Care Team. All the team contributes to GP training and we aim to provide a friendly, supportive and stimulating learning environment. Registrars are also encouraged to have fun and keep us all happy.

 

The practice is quite busy, serving a diverse population, including some areas of deprivation and about 10% from ethnic minority groups. We are situated on the Leeds side of Bradford about 1 ½ miles from the City centre. All the doctors have areas of special interest, such as acupuncture, mental health, substance abuse, diabetes, prescribing, CHD, Palliative Care and education. Ramesh Mehay is also a Programme Director for the Bradford GP Training Scheme and teaches on several Deanery led courses for both trainees and trainers in the Yorkshire-Humber region. He is also the pioneer of the Bradford Exit Course which is popular with trainees from all over the Yorkshire-Humber region.

 

Nick Price (another Programme Director of the Bradford Scheme) used to be a partner and trainer in this practice too.
