Again, I don't wish to overload you with an exhaustive list of websites that might help you with your role as a GP educator. Instead, I've listed only a selection of a few (each section has around 10 or less) that I've used and found immensely helpful. SKILLSCASCADE.COM This site is written by the authors of that wonderful Calgary Cambridge book on consultation models. Although the site needs a facelift, the payoff is the wonderful downloads that will help your teaching of consultation skills eg ALOBA. |

INNOVAIT ONLINE Yes, you can now view the journal online for free. This magazine for Associates In Training (i.e. GP trainees) gets such high reviews that even qualified GPs are pushing for its general release. Well written in a laid back style. |

BUSINESSBALLS Businessballs is a free ethical learning and development resource for people and organisations, run by Alan Chapman, in Leicester, England. It's an online collection of learning and development ideas and is now used by about a million people each month. Essential if you want to know more about teams and management. |

CONCEPTTOCLASSROOM A lovely little site primarily aimed at general educationalists. Provides FREE self paced workshops, tips and strategies. The site has a great relaxed feel to it. Seriously worth checking out - esp Multiple Intelligencies |

NHS APPRAISAL TOOLKIT This is a must if you want to avoid a headache from collating stuff for your annual NHS GP appraisal. This site provides you with your own personal electronic portfolio for maintaining your PUNS, DENs and a whole host of other tools for reflecting. |

PENINE GP TRAINING SCHEME Matt Smith's relatively new website for trainers and trainees is a welcome addition providing resources on a site that is easy to navigate. For a first timer in web design, his achievements are remarkable. Use the horizontal navigation bar. |

DOCTORS.NET The largest independent network for collaboration and improvement in healthcare. Provides a good and free email service as well as medical resources. I think you can even find/search for friends from medical school or see what they're upto now. |

NAPCE - National Association of Primary Care Educators An organisation uniting all educationalists in primary care. They run conferences and workshops well worth attending. Promoting the role in mentoring, teaching and facilitating continued professional development for Primary Care Educators around the UK. |
PMETB - Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board PMETB is the independent regulatory body responsible for postgraduate medical education and training. They ensure that postgraduate training for doctors is of the highest standard.

RCGP - Royal College of General Practitioners The RCGP is a professional membership organisation for GPs in the UK. Its aim is to encourage and maintain the highest standards of general practice and act as the ‘voice’ of general practitioners on education, training and standards issues. |

UKAPD - United Kingdom Association of Programme Directors Although this name implies that the Association is for Programme Directors, the organisation is warm, friendly and open to any educationalist (they're keen on promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and learning). They run workshops, courses and lots more. The UKAPD is the only national body representing the views of training programme directors in Britain. So JOIN NOW.... |

UKCEA - United Kingdom Conferance of Educational Advisors UKCEA like the rest (NAPCE and UKAPD) aims to promote education and training relating to General Practice. Mainly consists of Associate GP Advisers in General Practice and Directors of Postgraduate GP Education, it has observers from the Royal College of General Practitioners, GPC, NAPCE, UKAPD, AUDGP (Association of University Departments of General Practice), and a GP Registrar representative. |

YORKSHIRE-HUMBER DEANERY Great website with tonnes of resources for both trainees and trainers that you will not find anywhere. Great style, easy to use and simply practical! Of course, I would say that since I helped create it!

GP MAGAZINE & MEDECONOMICS This is the online version of the GP Magazine. Looks a bit busy for me but others out there may love it. Lists jobs n all. Also incorporates an electronic version of MedEconomics that some of you will be familiar with (click Practice & Finance).

MISTERPOLL With MisterPoll you can create your own online polls on any subject with an unlimited number of questions. Email them to friends, plug them into your web site, submit them to MisterPoll's public directory, and more. Really useful site when you want to do a "quick and dirty" survey of what people are doing. Again, it's FREE. |
REMEMBER THE MILK What can I say other than I love this site and consider it a MUST HAVE. If you have lots of tasks to do and have many fingers in different pots and struggle to keep on top of them, then this website is for you. It's an online task list which means you can access it from anywhere and even have it on certain mobile devices like BlackBerrys. |
