Our Financial Policy

FACILITATING HDR

  • Lead facilitator designs a new session from scratch: £300 per half day
  • Lead facilitator significantly re-designs a previous run session: £300 per half day
  • Lead facilitator re-runs a session without much change from the previous one or without much extra preparation: £194.50 per half day
  • Co-facilitator or Small Group Facilitator for 3h or more: £194.50 per half day
  • Co-facilitator or Small Group Facilitator for <3h: claim at £64 per hour

Notes:

  • When designing the whole HDR programme, we will be mindful of facilitator requirements versus costs to the scheme (ensuring cost-effectiveness).  However, some HDR sessions require more than one facilitator to help impart educational impact.
  • The lead facilitator and small group facilitator roles for a HDR session are open to anyone – a GP trainer, TPD, doctor or another professional – based on their expertise and the nature of what is required.
  • As a TPD’s role is to help design an overall HDR programme (and not the delivery of individual sessions), they too can claim for individual HDR sessions they are involved in.  However, TPDs can only claim for sessions which they are absolutely required (e.g. for their facilitation skills), and not for optional sessions or sessions with little involvement.

MODULAR COURSES

  • Lead facilitator designs a new session from scratch: £600 per day
  • Lead facilitator significantly re-designs a previous run session: £600 per day
  • Lead facilitator re-runs a session without much change from the previous one: £389 per day
  • Co-facilitator or Small Group Facilitator: £389 per day, £194.50 per half day  (but if involvement is <3h, claim at £64/h)

Notes:

  • When designing a modular course, we will be mindful of facilitator requirements versus costs to the scheme (ensuring cost-effectiveness).  However, some modular courses require more than one facilitator to help impart educational impact.
  • The lead facilitator and small group facilitator roles for a modular course are open to anyone – a GP trainer, TPD, doctor or another professional – based on their expertise and the nature of what is required.
  • As a TPD’s role is to help design an overall modular programme (and not the delivery of individual sessions), they too can claim for specific modular courses they are involved in.

THE BRADFORD ORIENTATION MODULAR COURSE FOR NEW GP TRAINEES

  • Lead facilitators who significantly re-design a previously run session (or create a new one): £600 per day
  • Lead facilitators who re-run the session without much change from the previous one: £389 per day
  • Co-facilitators or Small Group Facilitators: £389 per day, £194.50 per half day  (but if involvement is <3h, claim at £64/h)

THE ANNUAL BRADFORD TRAINERS’ CONFERENCE

  • The total budget for this is fixed at £5000 max .
  • It is up to the organising group to manage within this.
  • Any expenses for equipment come first, together with venue costs (this is left this to the organising group). We need to be clear that the venue costs are no more than those paid by HEYH/Deanery for similar things.
  • Day delegate fees will be paid out of the £5000 budget.  However, if a trainer cancels without reasonable notice or reason, then they will bear the cost.
  • Accommodation fees will be responsibility of each individual trainer – to be paid directly to the hotel at time of departure.  Any cancellation fees for rooms etc are the liability of the individual trainer as it will not be justifiable to use public money for this.
  • Fees for the organisers: This needs to be in line with HEYH/Deanery policy.  A rough guide would be a RESOURCE FEE for £300 each – but dependent on working within the £5K budget.  This is worked out on half a day for design and delivery; we appreciate there will have been more time committed to this than the £300 worth, but it is really intended to be a token of the training scheme’s appreciation.

EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISION

  • Educational Supervisors will receive a payment of £300 per trainee per year.
  • Educational Supervisors will need to submit an invoice for a prospective claim every year at about September time – once they know how many trainees they have to supervise.   (In other words, September 2015 will be a claim for delivering Educational Supervision from Aug 2015-Aug 2016).
  • The claim will need to go to Deanery via our administrator, Claire Johnson.  A claim form can be found here….
  • It will be settled by Deanery, not the scheme.
