I love TED lectures.   Did you know that you can download an iphone app for TED lectures (just plug in ‘TED’ into the itunes app search facility).  TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences — the TED Conference on the West Coast each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer — TED includes the award-winning TED Talks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.

In this one, Hans Rosling gives an amazing presentation on health statistics.  For those of you into teaching and learning, you may at first think how wonderful this presentation is because of the amazing technology he uses.  But don’t lose sight of the fact that he has amazing presentation skills (humour, dynamism, passion and so on).
